Research Interests
My research interests are threefold:
(1) Integrated Energy Systems Operation and Planning;
(2) Energy Markets and Transactive Energy;
(3) Energy Systems Integration.
More specifically, I have worked on the smart grids, microgrids, and active buildings design, operation and economics, and what I have been most interested in over the last years is the application of advanced optimisation and machine learning algorithms in these studies.
Today, I work with the focus on the whole system approach to energy and work on a broader research portfolio with the aim of clean energy systems integration into the power systems, by considering flexibility and transactive energy as key elements. I have worked with international researchers on various interdisciplinary problems in power and energy systems, economics, optimization theory, and control theory.
